2024 - 58th Annual Porter Peach Festival Parade Rules 

Line Up: Between 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Parade: 11:00 a.m. 

Line up at the Church of Christ 120 S. 8th St. Porter, OK 74454

 

1.   You can pre-register for the parade by going to the website and filling out an Entry Form, and emailing it to dashnk27@gmail.com. They must be filled out no later than 11:00 p.m. on July 16th. 

 

2.   Each float, organization, or individual must have a Team Leader over the age of 18. The Parade Team Leaders will be the designated contact person for all parade and police officials before, during, and after the parade. Parade Team Leaders name and contact information must be filled out on the parade entry form.

 

3.   You will need to arrive at the Church of Christ between 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. to check in, and then you will be given an official entry number. This number will represent your place in the parade, and your entry number for the contest. Please do not arrive to line up after 10:45 a.m.

 

4.   During the parade a small panel of judges will choose a winner, 2nd place, and 3rd place float/group. Groups/Floats will be judged bases on creativity, effort, and safety. 1st place will get $150, 2nd place will get $100, and 3rd place will get $50.

 

5.   Winners will be officially announced on the Main Stage before the Prize Peach Auction. The team leader from the float, organization, or individual who wins 1st place and 2nd place must be present to accept the cash prizes. The entire group is encouraged to be there for the championship photos. 

 

 

6.   There will be absolutely NO ITEMS (CANDY, TOYS, ETC.)

THROWN FROM CARS, TRUCKS OR OFF HORSES IN THE

PARADE. If anyone is caught throwing anything the organization and/or the individual will be given a $100 fine. THIS WILL BE 

STRICTLY ENFORCED THIS YEAR AND YOU WILL LOSE 

PARADE PRIVILEGES. We strongly encourage every organization and/or individual to have walkers. Walkers will pass out things to crowd as long as they keep toward the spectators and away from the vehicles/parade route. We don't want to encourage children to run out towards oncoming parade vehicles.  

 

7.   All equestrians riding in the parade must come together to find a volunteer “pooper scooper”. If no one volunteers for the “pooper scooper” position all horses must wear the dreaded manure bags. We are only asking for one to two volunteers. Please attach volunteer’s name and contact information in notes section of Entry Form. There will be an announcement made on both Facebook and the website when one to two volunteers are found.   

 

8.   HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT I, the undersigned, both 

individually and as agent for the group herein after designated, agree to hold harmless, indemnify and defend the Porter Lion’s Club for any and all acts alleged or actual, that results in bodily injury, personal injury or property damage to myself, members of the group for which I am agent, and any third parties, arising out of the function, action or participation by myself or designated group during the Porter Peach Festival. The Porter Lion’s Club shall 'not be liable for the results of any accident, damage, theft or any other loss to any person or article, employed by or in the possession of myself or the group mentioned while on the grounds of the Porter Peach Festival festivities, whether such occurs during the time of preparation, for the period of the Porter Peach Festival or the removal of equipment or material after the event.
